For our Matilda workshops we have lined up two incredible artists to come and share their creativity with the artists/poets/writers of the future! Both of the workshops are run on a drop-in, pay-as-you-feel basis, 2-4pm at Broomhill Library. Let’s find out more about them…
Hannah Roast – Drawing Stories! 18 March
Hannah is an artist / illustrator / workshopper interested in storytelling and creative teaching. She studied Fine Art at Nottingham Trent, Illustration at Central St Martins and makes zines, prints, posters, web graphics, animations and more. In this workshop there’ll be a couple of activities to explore: experimenting with watercolour pencils, illustrating mini-books and character creation!
Sarah Christie – Writing is Magic! 25 March
Sarah is the creative learning coordinator at Grimm & Co. – a children’s writing charity – and also runs writing and publishing workshops through her own social enterprise, the Edge of the Universe Printing Press. When she isn’t helping children to joyfully create stories, she can usually be found working on her own novel. In her workshop, she’ll be getting children to each make their very own book! They can follow story prompts to help them write a thrilling, magical tale – or feel free to simply unleash their imaginations on the blank page!
