In May 2016, Handmade Cinema took an immersive screening of The Jungle Book to the Burton Street Foundation. With giant props and handcrafted scenery, we transformed Burton Street’s Bamforth Building into an Indian jungle for two afternoons of arts and crafts, live music, face painting, themed refreshments and film viewing. The first screening was specifically for Burton Street’s clients and the second screening was open to the general public.
The Burton Street residents helped in creating the scenery in two special workshops at the foundation. We also had a bit of help from Hillsborough’s Rainbows and Brownies and kids from the local community at Walkley Carnegie Library in two more printing and jungle animal workshops.
